Anne Frank
Anne Frank was only 9 when the Holocaust first began. She hid in the attic of her fathers office to escape being sent to a concentration camp. At the age of 13 she began to write in a journal her father had given her.“If we bear all this suffering and if there are still Jews left, when it is over, then Jews, instead of being doomed, will be held up as an example.” This written by a little girl shows that even in the midst of a horrific event, people can see a silver lining. They decide not to look at the Holocaust as an event where many of their friends and family members were killed, but rather as an event that shows that people are able to fight through the most gruesome and terrifying circumstances, and come out stronger than they were before.
